Western Food at Esplanade (Georgetown)

One of my all time favourite place for Western food would be the western food stall at the food court at Esplanade. It's located just by the side of the main entrance of Fort Cornwallis. The stall operators have been running their business at the same spot for many years. The western food is extremely popular with office workers and since they serve halal food, you do get a lot of Muslim patrons at their stall.
While most folks come here for the western food, they do serve equally good Hainanese style fried mee and fried rice. I ordered the fried rice some time back and the portion was humongous i.e. a mini mountain on a plate. It's extremely good value for money. However, we normally come here for the fish and prawn which is their signature dish. I have to admit that the batter is nicely done and adds a crispy thin layer onto the fish and prawns. It reminds me of the traditional batter used for making fish and chips like in the good old days. As you bite into your catch of the day, you can immediately taste the Lee & Perry sauce which they use to marinate them. All servings come with chips, baked beans and slices of tomatoes and lettuce.

Check out the prices. They are quite reasonable. They used to be cheaper before the price hike.

Fish and prawn. It comes with a generous amount of tartar sauce.

Chicken chop with home made sauce.

I believe they are only open for lunch and from 11 am onwards. Like most stalls around the area, they are close on Sundays.

hi hclim - I think they might be open just for lunch till 2 pm. Saturday is a bit tricky since most offices are now closed in that area so this stall might not open as well. Anyway, if you are in that area, it's worth a shot.
